I Beg Your Pardon
In 1969, country music song writer, Joe South, wrote and released the song “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden.” The next year, Canadian singer Lynn Anderson released the song, and it became a hit song for her—rising to the top of the country music charts for five weeks, as well as in 1971 being listed as the number 3 song on the Pop 100 songs for that year. It was re-released again in 2005 by Martina McBride.
