Voters across the state of Louisiana are now subject to Act 1 of the 2024 Legislative Session that mandates closed primary elections for certain elections. In essence, it means that only Republicans can vote for Republicans and Democrats for Democrats in the closed primary election May 16 to determine which candidate will represent their party in the general election.
