Hundreds of people attended the Town of Jena’s annual Easter in the Park Friday, April 3, where thousands of eggs were hunted, many prizes were awarded and churches and other organizations offered games for the children to play.

Jena Mayor LaDawn C. Edwards established the event soon after she first became mayor in 2015 and the event has become a fixture, drawing people from all over the central Louisiana area.

Although the start time of the event was changed due to forecasted rain, the rain held off all day to allow the fun time to take place without any problems.

Mayor Edwards thanked everyone who came and participated and those who volunteered their time to make it so successful.
