There is a feeling of excitement all across LaSalle Parish as our two softball teams hold the number one ranking in their respective divisions, and the playoffs are set to begin this week. The LaSalle Lady Tigers are #1 in Division IV Non-Select, and the Jena Lady Giants are #1 in Division III Non-Select. With the playoff brackets being announced today (check our Facebook page for updates), they will each receive a first round bye and automatically advance to the second round or regional round, set to be played on their home turf early next week. They will only have to win two games (regional and quarterfinal rounds) to punch their tickets to the LHSAA Softball State Tournament, set for May 1 & 2 in Sulphur.
