Buying a business and moving to Jena in 1982 there was a problem right off the bat with directions to houses. In Alexandria every street had a sign and everyone was familiar with their street name and the major streets around them. Not so in LaSalle Parish. There were few street signs, few mail boxes or houses with house numbers. The few house numbers and mailboxes that were there were from a long since discontinued system and were useless and confusing. Some customers were not sure of their home address.
