BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT HELD IN OLLA

The annual Back-to-School Blessings event was held Monday night, July 20, at Olla First Baptist Church, where nearly 200 bags of school supplies were distributed to students.

Although the distribution and worship service was held at Olla First Baptist, the program is the work of many churches in the North LaSalle area with assistance from various individuals and businesses by providing donations to purchase the supplies.

At the distribution service last week, Trace Franklin led the large crowd of students and parents in worship and Bro. Stacey Pittman brought a special word from the Bible.

Afterwards, the crowd navigated to the fellowship hall where the supplies were distributed and refreshments were enjoyed.

The Back-to-School Blessings Committee issued the following statement: “A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who helped make this year’s Back to School Blessings event a tremendous success.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our local churches for coming together to serve our community and share the love of Christ. We would also like to recognize and thank our generous sponsors: Caldwell Bank & Trust, Homeland Bank, Southern Heritage Bank, and LaSalle Parish Sheriff Lane Windham for their support and commitment to helping local students and families prepare for the new school year.

Because of the generosity of our churches, sponsors, businesses, and community members, 190 students from Pre-K through 12th grade received backpacks and school supplies to help them begin the school year with confidence. Your donations, prayers, and volunteer efforts made a meaningful difference in the lives of many families.

This event is a wonderful reminder of what can happen when churches, businesses, community leaders, and citizens come together for a common purpose. Thank you to every church, sponsor, volunteer, and individual who gave so generously. Your kindness has made a lasting impact, and we pray God richly blesses each of you.”

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. — Matthew 5:16
