The LaSalle Parish School Board approved $24,570.80 for materials and concrete finishing work at the Jena High School football stadium during its Aug. 4 meeting, capping months of privately funded improvements at the facility. At times, however, discussion on the item turned tense as board members raised concerns about a lack of the board’s oversight on the project.
