43 Years and Counting – The Bridal March Sonnet
I went to a wedding recently and to my dismay, the bridal march was missing...not the bride, mind you, but the traditional bridal march. Now I adhere to the philosophy ‘each to their own’ and respect the right of every bride to do her wedding as she wishes, but it was a little discombobulating for an old gal like me. This was a first and while the chosen melody was lovely, it didn’t fill me with that warm cozy feeling of nostalgia. Not one goose bump. Not one flashback to my own nuptials – but the beautiful bride was all smiles!
