The heat of summer is at its peak, and most landscapes are struggling to keep up. Flowers and shrubs need daily watering, trees are already shedding leaves due to lack of rain, and insects and animals rely on natural water sources for a cool drink. There are, however, a few of nature’s creatures that seem to thrive on the current conditions and for the next month or so reign in the garden kingdoms of LaSalle Parish: namely the large yellow banana spider and a host of floating butterflies.
