Jena Police Officer Kyle Robertson used the department’s August report to the Jena Town Council on Sept. 14 to walk council members through three larger issues facing the department: a proposed records-and-dispatch partnership with the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office, a growing backlog of unserved warrants, and a new pay and hiring-incentive package aimed at chronic understaffing.
