On Saturday, May 1, history was made in Sulphur, Louisiana as both the Jena Lady Giants and LaSalle Lady Tigers softball teams won state championships in their respective classifications. I was there that day to witness the historic event covering the Lady Giants, along with staff photographer Morgan Smith covering the Lady Tigers, and there were also a couple thousand other LaSalle Parish residents in attendance.
