The Wellspring Alliance for Families serves victims of domestic violence throughout LaSalle Parish. Our mission is to reduce the devastating impact of domestic violence on individuals, children, families, and communities.
Free, confidential services are now available in the new Jena office located at 1043 Courthouse Street. Services include safety planning, referrals to community resources, case management, transitional housing, protective orders, life skills classes, and more. For an appointment, call 348-3005.

V.F.W. Meeting in Jena
If you are a spouse of or have had a family member that served in a foreign war the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 5002 members invite you to join them at their monthly meeting.

4-H University Short Course
LaSalle 4-Hers, 8th-12th grades, are eligible to participate in the 4-H University Short Course contests. This is their chance to compete statewide against other 4-H members for cash, educational trips and awards trips.
4-H University will be a combination of virtual and in-person contests and activities for this year with a cost of $20. The in-person format of 4-H University will look different due to the COVID-19 restrictions and overall structure.
The event will focus more on one-day events for contestants throughout the month of June. Many of the in-person contests are being held in the Alexandria area. A few of the contests will take place at 4-H Camp. Judging contests will be held in Baton Rouge.
Those who wish to run for a State Office or apply for a State Board Position need to contact the 4-H office for registration before May 1. State Board positions include Fashion Board, SET Board, Citizenship Board, Food & Fitness, Shooting Sports and the Executive Board.

High Tea Fundraiser in Olla
The Centennial Cultural Center in downtown Olla will host a High Tea event on May 23 at 2 p.m. at the center.

VBS @ Nolley
Nolley Memorial Methodist Church will host a oneday VBS event on Sunday, June 6. Registration and lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by VBS activities from 12:30 to 4:30.
Immediately following VBS, there will be ice cream and family time with jumpers, a slide and fun on the playground.
All children are invited from Pre-K to sixth grade to come join the fun. This year’s theme will be “God’s Big 10” to learn about the ten commandments.

Trinity Baptist Church will hold their upcoming VBS, “Lava Lava Luau,” from June 6-10 for ages Pre-K to fifth grade at the church in Jena.

Drive Thru Fan Giveaway
The LaSalle Parish Healthy Coalition Drive-Thru Fan Giveaway, Drug Take Back Day, Resource Fair, and COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic will be held Tuesday, May 25, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at New Evergreen Baptist Church in Jena.
The church is located at 1190 Church Street and anyone may drive up and receive a free fan (one per family), discard unused/outdated medicines, receive valuable resources on healthy living, and also get a free COVID-19 vaccination.
The vaccines available that day will be Moderna and Johnson & Johnson and you do not need an appointment. Simply show up to receive the vaccine and other items.
