Fear of the newest variant of the COVID-19 virus, omicron, is proving to be greater than its symptoms and actual numbers. Study after study from the United Kingdom, Japan, Israel, and other countries have shown the latest version of the virus has milder symptoms (much like a cold or very mild flu), much less hospitalizations, and hardly any deaths while many in the government are promoting more mandates and stricter restrictions as a response to the increase in cases.
