LaSalle Parish resident Nelda Tarver and Grant Parish artist Ransom Rambo survey his exhibit during his recent Artist Meet & Greet at the LaSalle Parish Library in Jena. A series of Ramboâs African-American portraits were displayed to celebrate Black History Month along with other pieces of his artwork. He was recognized by the Louisiana House of Representatives as a celebrated Louisiana Artist for commemorating black pioneers in Louisiana History.

70 Years Ago February 28, 1952 Twirling with the twirlers of Louisiana Tech this year is Lou Young of Jena. With the experienced performers participating, baton twirling, will be one of the outstanding features of Tech’s annual summer camp of music, dramatics, and dancing for high school students.
