LaSalle Parish Sheriff Scott Franklin threw out the first pitch to start the 2022 Dixie Youth Baseball season Saturday morning, March 19, in memory of his dad, the late Sammy Franklin, Publisher/Editor of The Jena Times newspaper, who was a long-time supporter of Dixie ball and all parish athletic programs.
