Olla progresses on restoration of prominent buildings
The Dixie Center in downtown Olla sustained considerable damage from two hurricanes and an ice storm and restoration work has seen continuous delays due to insurance and other factors. As of last week, the center has been stripped down to the brick walls with all the kitchen appliances moved out and the tin ceiling removed and disposed of due to asbestos. Mold and mildew mitigation is set to begin soon.
