Darla Poole, a member of the Golden Star Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, announced to the masons of the local masonic lodge, Michael Dempsey, on July 26 that a committee has been formed to re-open the Jena chapter of the Order ofthe Eastern Star. She explained that the original charter was surrendered several years ago and that Eastern Star is an important piece of LaSalle Parish history and an important part of many local family legacies.
