Antwone Johnson, the 13-year-old son of Antionette Yvette Johnson and grandson of the late Rev. Ernest Johnson, Sr. and Rosie B. Johnson McCoy and Don Franklin McCoy, recently competed in the Mayfair Laboratory School Student of the Year contest and finished in third place. Following is the essay he submitted: “My name is Antwone Rovierre Johnson. I am 13 years old and my birthday is December 19. I live with my wonderful and awesome mother and she taught me to always strive to do my best. When I grow up, I want to be a Pediatrician because I want to make a difference in children’s lives. With my academic and extracurricular achievements, I would make a great Student of the Year representing Mayfair Laboratory School.
