Jena-connected DJ wins Josie Award in Nashville

HD Ainsworth, an award-winning radio host and DJ out of Minden, won 2022 Radio Personality of the Year during the eighth annual Josie Music Awards at the Opry House in Nashville. He hosts the I-20 Morning Show on KBEF 104.5 every weekday from 6 to 8 a.m. out of Minden. His radio show can be listened to live at kbef.com Belah resident and songwriter Mellanie Book Randall also had a song she wrote nominated for Single of the Year for Traditional Country, “Echoes of Love,” which is performed by JMA award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Clayton McBroom of Minden. Randall and several of her songs has been nominated for multiple Josie awards in the past. Nominee suggestions go through a lengthy review process by a team of industry leaders and the official nomination list is created from their final decisions. Winners are also selected by the same industry leader deciding panel.
