Giants beat Mansfield in Mud Bowl to advance to 2nd round

The game start was delayed almost two hours due to lightning and was played in mud and under a steady rain, but the #10-ranked Giants came out victorious and will face off with #7-ranked Amite on Friday night in Amite for the second round playoff game.

The Louisiana high school state playoffs began this past Friday night. The Jena Giants earned the #10 seed in the Division 3 non-select bracket and would play #23 Mansfield. The Giants last played the Wolverines from Mansfield back in 2014 in the first round of the playoffs as Mansfield won 38-8.
