On Tuesday, January 10, we met at Cotton Boll Florals, 3285 North First Street, downtown Jena (formerly the old Bank of Jena building). Present were Judy Baker, Cynthia Bradford, Glenda Cooper, Denise Grissom, Lisa McCann, Barbara Murphy, Donna Justiss, Nelda Tarver, and Beth Zoller.
The Cotton Boll is owned by Amanda P. Hamilton. She has been at this location since March 2022. She has been in the flower design business for several years. She specializes in weddings, events and all flower needs. The phone number is 992-2224 and see the Facebook page for more information and pictures.
The bank building’s bottom floor had some renovations in 2016. The bank, and now Amanda, has continued the tradition of displaying a snowman in the second floor window. Amanda has great creative design skills and her ability to visualize improvements will have the Cotton Boll building looking fabulous in the future. Our group had fun shopping the after- Christmas sales. The quality Christmas decorations and gifts were unique. For most of our purchases, we will have to wait until next Christmas to display our new decorations. Amanda demonstrated arranging beautiful live flowers and gave us some arranging tips. We toured the first floor and the second floor of the Cotton Boll is where Amanda has lots of great renovation ideas.
After leaving the Cotton Boll, we went to Miss B’s for lunch. We enjoyed the shop, the meal and the hospitality from Ms. Bonnie Juarez and her staff. They were having a very busy day. Miss B’s phone number is 992-1230 and see their Facebook page for daily lunch specials.
We appreciate the time they spent with us and say thank you to the Cotton Boll Florals and Miss B’s.
