Jena Giant junior scores 37 points at Marksville

The Jena Giants traveled to Marksville this past Tuesday as they took on the Marksville Tigers in another district contest. The Giants would come into the game still looking for their first district win while Marksville would look to stay in contention for the district championship. Marksville would outscore the Giants 19-12 in the first quarter as Zy Hunter had nine of the 12 Jena points in the quarter. In the second quarter, the Giants would outscore Marksville 12-11 as Marksville would take a 30-24 lead into halftime. Zy Hunter would lead all scorers at the half with 17 first half points. In the second half, Hunter would score 20 more points to finish with 37 points but Marksville would get hot from three as they would make eight three-point shots in the second half to go on to win 79-59. In the game for the Giants, Zy Hunter had 37 points, Adarian Richardson had seven points, Xavier Brown had six points, Amare Jackson had five points, Blayne Shivers had two points and Zadrien Cooper had two points.
