The Bee Lady, Margie Morphis, pictured beside an observation hive, recently worked with the Ag Expo in West Monroe at an exhibit about honey bees and honey production. Students from across several parishes visited the exhibit and attempted to locate the queen bee in the hive.

The Bee Lady, Maggie Morphis – Part 2
Honeybees swarming the hives do not bother beekeeper Margie Morphis in the least. In fact, the serenade of the collective buzzes lets her know all is well in the hives. She has been keeping bees for the last nine years, taking up the practice after she and her husband, Jim, retired in 2014.
