Andrews Cemetery Meeting
A meeting is to be held at Andrews Cemetery on Saturday, May 27, at 10 a.m. Decisions need to be made concerning care, upkeep, road conditions, and future of this cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at Rosefield Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m, Sunday, May 28.

Pine Grove Cemetery Announcement
There will not be a spring cemetery working in May at Pine Grove Cemetery on Blade Loop Road in Jena this year.

Open House at Head Start
The LaSalle Parish Community is invited to an Open House event at the LaSalle Headstart on Tuesday, May 30 beginning at 10 a.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and tour of the building.

JHS Class of 1960 Reunion
1960 JHS graduates, mark your calendar for Saturday, June 3, 2023! The summer reunion is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brisket House, Jena, LA (across from the old Jena Elementary School).

VBS at First Baptist Church – Jena
VBS at First Baptist, Jena – June 5-9, 9 a.m.-noon. Students who have completed Kindergarten-5th grades are invited to attend.
Spin the spinner, beat the clock, skip ahead, level up and play to win! Twists & Turns is a fantastical celebration of games of all kinds. From classic tabletop games to strategy games to video games and more, kids will play their way through VBS. They’ll see Jesus through the eyes of Peter and discover that trusting Jesus as Savior and following Him changes everything!

The Little Free Food Pantry in Jena is located beside The Jena Times on Third Street in front of the town pavilion. The pantry is open to anyone in need and also for citizens to add items to keep the pantry stocked.

Free Youth Summer Camps
The Strand Village Project #thrive is offering three free summer camps in arts and technology for youth in 5th-12th grades (Fall 2023). Enrollment is on a firstcome, first-serve basis and is limited to 20 students per camp.
The first camp is the #thrive Tech iPad/iPhone Phorography and Videography Summer Camp for youth in grades 8th-12th (Fall 2023) from 9 a.m. to noon on May 22-25 and May 30-June 2 at the LEDD office (old Jena Town Hall – 1850B Second Street) in Jena. The instructors are Kim Aldrich, Alejandra Lachance and Morgan Tarpley Smith and the site coaches are Amanda Mason and Ashley Liles.
The second camp is the #thrive Arts Painting and Drawing: Points of View Summer Camp for youth in grades 5th-12th (Fall 2023) from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on May 22-25 and May 30-June 2 at the Urania Recreation Hall (6635 Tannehill Drive) in Urania. The instructor is art instructor Kim Aldrich and the site coach is Laci Wilson.
The third camp is the #thrive Tech Robotics Summer Camp for youth in grades 6th-9th (Fall 2023) from 9 a.m. to noon on June 12-16 and June 19-22 at the LEDD office (old Jena Town Hall – 1850B Second Street) in Jena. The instructor is Alejandra Lachance and the site coach is Morgan Tarpley Smith.

LaSalle Celebrate Recovery
LaSalle Celebrate Recovery is a free 52-week Christ-centered 12-step program for any life controlling issue. Jena Giant Booster Club
The Jena Giants Booster Club will hold their meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the LaSalle Golf & Country Club, located at 260 Country Club Rd, in Trout.
Victim Advocate Program
Victims of crime can receive help with safety planning, guidance through the criminal justice system and access to certain resources to gain strength after victimization.
Services include emotional support, lethality assessment, prevention of abuse, and referrals to services. Assistance in filing Civil Temporary Restraining Orders or Crime Victim’s Reparations notification of court dates and accompanying the victim to interviews and court proceedings are also available.

Honor Guard Needs Members
The LaSalle Parish Honor Guard is seeking new members. The Honor Guard provides military honor funerals and burials for all veterans, along with presenting programs in schools, churches and other venues as well as programs during Memorial Day and Veterans Day. V.F.W. Meeting/Supper
If you are a spouse of or have had a family member that served in a foreign war the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 5002 members invite you to join them at their monthly meeting and supper.

Elderly Care Relief
If you are caring for an elderly resident and need someone to relieve you of the care a few hours a week, call the LaSalle Council on Aging at 992-4708 between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. LaSalle Council on Aging is an equal opportunity provider.
Wild Horse Ministries
