Most people are aware of the trip taken by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. It was a trip called the Core of Discovery and it was an attempt to find out what was in the Louisiana Purchase because it was new territory stretching from the East Coast of the United States all the way to the West Coast. What people are not aware of is that the President also sanctioned three other fact-finding ventures in the Louisiana Purchase.
