Everyone living in this country came from somewhere else and we all have an immigration story. There is a recorded history of how our family came to the U.S. and where they came from. Have you looked into your family history? We have. On my dad’s side, four brothers landed in Americus, GA in the early 1800’s. Three brothers stayed in Georgia and one brother moved to Grant Parish. My great, great grandfather W.B. Stallings was as doctor and took care of people in Grant Parish. Dr. Thompson’s daughter even married my great grandfather Jeff Davis Stallings. She died during childbirth and is buried close to her father in a cemetery in Grant Parish just off Hwy 8 next to Little River. I have Dr. Stallings doctor’s certificate written in Latin on lamb skin.
