Lots of people across the ages have wondered how this world will end: The Muslims think that Mohammed will soon return and have Jesus Christ as his assistant. They will go door to door giving people a choice. Either become a Muslim or die immediately. This would mean that the entire world of people would be Muslims. The Jews think that their Messiah will soon come to save all Jews and conquer all world powers and put all of them under His control. Christians think that Jesus Christ will soon come back and destroy all world powers and thus end Satan’s reign of terror on the earth. Daniel’s Dream: Daniel 2:31-45 (see attached figure): Daniel saw a big statue. God said to Daniel that all world kingdoms will come and go in the order presented in the figure. • The gold head of the statue represented the kingdom of BABYLON, 605 BC 539 BC. • The breast and arms of silver represented the kingdom of the Medo-Persia, 539 BC-331 BC. • The belly and thighs of brass represented the era of Alexander the Great of Greece, 331 BC-168 BC. • The legs of iron represented the Roman kingdom, 168 BC-476 AD. • The feet of the statue is mixed clay with iron. This mixture will not hold together. This means that in the last days of earth, there will be many efforts to control world governments. All the efforts will fail. Consider the United Nations, the National Council of Churches, NATO, the New World Order, the unification of the countries in Europe and many others. Daniel’s dream also included the mention of a small rock not made by human hands that smashed the feet of the statue, and the statue fell down, broke into small pieces and the wind blew the pieces away. However, the small rock will become a mountain of rock that no man can conquer. That represents the Kingdom of Jesus Christ on planet Earth. People need not be in fear of any nation or group of nations ever ruling the world again until Jesus returns and declares Himself King of the Earth. The Spanish tried to rule the world and failed. The British tried to rule the world and failed. Napolean, communism, WWI Germany, Hitler and Japan tried to rule the world and failed. Russia is trying to rule the world but is failing. China wants to rule the world, but is failing. When Jesus comes back soon… He will rule the world. And with an iron fist.
