Centennial Cultural Center Receives Impact Award

The Central Louisiana Community Foundation (CLCF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the annual Community Impact Award, recognizing organizations that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the region. The winners are LSU Agricultural Center – Camp Grant Walker, Bunkie Community Development Corporation, and Centennial Cultural Center (CCC), Inc of Olla.

The Community Impact Award facilitated through the Central Louisiana Community Impact Fund (CLCIF), aims to support high-impact projects that enhance the quality of life in Central Louisiana. The grant amount varies from $25,000 to $100,000, and the winners were selected by the Community Impact Award Selection Committee.

The winning projects showcased the diversity and innovation of initiatives that contribute to the betterment of Central Louisiana.

The CCC was awarded a grant in the amount of $10,000.00 which will support various educational camps at the center, including Special Needs Camp, Robot Camp, Rocket Camp, Science, Drama and Literacy Camp.

New classes in sewing, canning and calligraphy will also be offered, providing cultural and educational opportunities in LaSalle Parish, according to CCC Director Donna Lindsey.

Darryl Monroe, Chairman of CLCF, expressed his enthusiasm for the impactful initiatives, saying, “These organizations have shown a commitment to making a lasting difference in our community. The projects funded through the Community Impact Award will undoubtedly contribute to the betterment of Central Louisiana.”

Keith Adams, President and CEO of CLCF, added, “We are proud to support these innovative projects that address community-wide issues and have the potential for broad and sustainable impact. The Central Louisiana Community Foundation remains dedicated to advancing the quality of life for all in our communities.”

Emily McGruder, Director of Development of CLCF, highlighted the growth of the Community Impact Award, saying, “We are incredibly excited about the expansion of the Community Impact Award. This year, we received an impressive number of applications from non-profits, universities, and other organizations in the area that are doing truly amazing work. The enthusiasm and dedication of these organizations reflect the vibrant spirit of our community.”
