Nina Boyette

Nina Grace Roberts Boyette, 79, of the Walters Community, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, January 4, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 20, 1944 in Alexandria, LA to the union of her parents, Aaron Jackson “Shack” Roberts and Eddice Avaria Crooks Roberts.

Nina was the prime example of an upstanding daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She led her family by example of being strong-willed, fierce and devoted. She was the rock of her family and everyone’s favorite cook, especially for her biscuits! No matter who came through her door, she was quick to offer something to eat.

Services were held at 12 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Prosperity Baptist Church, with Rev. Thomas “Tommy” Sanson Jr., Bros. Aaron Boyette and Jameson Brown officiating.

Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Deville, LA, under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home, Jena, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles Boyette; her parents; and an infant sister.

Those left to love and miss her dearly include her daughter Cindy Boyette Pickett of Jena; two sons, D’Wayne Boyette and Chuck Boyette, both of the Walters Community; sister, Betty Cheryl Allen of Colfax, LA; three grandsons, Zachary Pickett, Jacob Pickett and Aaron Boyette (Sidney); six granddaughters, Julianna Pickett, Morgan Boyette, Allison Boyette, Mallory Boyette, Madalyn Boyette and M’Lynn Boyette; seven great-grandchildren, Slade Boyette, Ava Boyette, Ryatt Brewer, Ryleigh Ashley, Maverick Ashley, Alaya Dupuis and Drake Dupuis; her fur baby who brought her so much joy, Bella Boyette; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers were Zachary Pickett, Jacob Pickett, Aaron Boyette, Wesley Otwell, Mag Transier and Johnny Wilkinson.

Honorary pallbearer was Fred Cheraime.
