400+ Attend Parent Expo

This year’s LaSalle Parish Schools Parent Expo, held last Thursday, January 25 in the Jena Elementary School gymnasium, was deemed a huge success. The event saw more than 400 people visit over twenty booths represented by various schools, area agencies and much more. The LaSalle Parish Schools Parent Expo has been held annually since 2010. The event is a district-wide family involvement night to provide parents and families information about the schools, curriculum and community resources and opportunities. “During the event, each school and several local organizations provide handouts, brochures and giveaways about services they offer,” LPSB Homeless Liasson Missy McEntyre said. “These are available for all students, parents and families in LaSalle Parish.” McEntyre expressed her appreciation for all who attended and to those who provided a booth and information during the event. “Thank you to all the schools and organizations that set up booths and helped make the 2024 Parent Expo a success,” McEntyre said. “Also, a thank you to the parents, students and school employees for attending!” While parents received valuable information from the many resources made available, students had the opportunity to participate in a book walk, receive door prizes and enjoy free pizza.
