Did you know that back in the 1930’s the deer population in La-Salle Parish was wiped out. It is hard to believe but true. Deer had to be brought in from Wisconsin. As you can see, they have made an amazing comeback. Yet without game wardens this would surely happen again. Back in the 30’s people were just trying to survive. It would be hard to ticket or arrest a man for just trying to feed his family. Today things are quite different, and agents can now set up a realistic looking, moveable twelve-point deer affectionately named Bucky. Bucky can be placed in an obvious wooded area during the off season. If you stop and shoot at Bucky, you will be in a world of trouble.
