Thomas Chapman

Thomas Claudie Chapman, 90, of the Belah Community, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Fellowship Baptist Church, Belah, LA, with Pastor Shad Tibbs and Rev. W. H. Blasingame Jr. officiating.

Interment followed in the Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery (Woodland Cemetery), Jena, LA, under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born February 18, 1934 in Antioch Community to the union of his parents, the late Thomas William Chapman and Bertie Demertie Humphries Chapman.

He spent most of his life as a resident of the Belah Community. Thomas was retired from Deviney Construction Co. and a tractor mechanic. He lived and enjoyed a long life of over 90 years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Vivan Edgar Chapman; sister, Mary Ann Chapman Knapp; and a stepson, Jimmy Roberts.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Marolyn Marie Comeaux; seven children, Gerald, Glenda Blasingame, Jimmy, Lawrence, Wayne, Howard and Bro. Larry Chapman; three stepchildren, Lloyd Trisler, Christie Greer and Lisa Trisler Cockerham, with most of the family natives of LaSalle Parish; 29 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 12 greatgreat grandchildren.
