Chris Wheeler

William Christopher Wheeler, 39, of Grayson, passed from this life on Monday, April 8, 2024, at his home.

Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson, LA, with Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, LA.

Pallbearers were Samuel Wheeler, Lucas Temple, Justin Temple, Kenny Davis and Casey Garringer.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Lucky, Dustin Lucky and Harley McClain.

He was born January 3, 1985 in Monroe, LA, to the union of his parents, Marilyn Nelson Sharp and Danny Wilbur Sharp.

Chris was funny and smart, and he loved to play jokes on his family and friends. While he loved building things; he also enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. He was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints. He loved duck calls and anything Drake made in camouflage. Aside from his children and family his biggest love was his dog, a yellow lab named Drake. Chris will be missed greatly and always loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph Bryan McKenzie; sisters, Brianna Wheeler and Kelley Wheeler; and grandparents, Macey and AC Wheeler Jr., and Luther and Helen Reitzell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Samuel Wheeler; his daughter, Kaitlyn Winstead; sisters, Jennifer Hogg, Jolinda Temple, Danielle Trichell, Loree Atkins and Amanda King; and his uncle, Wayne Nelson (Beverly).
