Ray Parham

Ray Edward Parham, 84, of Olla, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2024, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Olla, LA, with Bro. Dennis Baker officiating.

Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery, Urania, LA, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Olla, LA.

Pallbearers were Chet Atkins, Austin Bradford, Lucas Parham, Alan Parham, John Garrett Rankin and Noah Parham.

Honorary pallbearers were Baron Atkins, Carson Atkins, Keegan Compton, Bexten Parham, Bowen Johno and Tom Bradford.

He was born December 20, 1939 to the union of his parents, the late Winifred Boyd Parham and Ray Edward Parham Sr.

Ray was employed by Louisiana Pacific Corporation and the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Department. Ray loved his family, his dog “Rascal” and the Lord. He enjoyed building knives, cat fishing, reading books and collegiate sports. Ray always told the best stories and had a memory like no other. He could tell you every sport stat of his kids and grandkids from the time they started playing until they stopped. Memories that were made will be treasured and he will be tremendously missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Elizabeth Parham.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Janice Parham; his children, Felicia Bradford, Cheryl Rankin (John David), Craig Parham (Tiffany), Corey Parham (Ronda); ten grandchildren, Chet Atkins (Miranda), Austin Bradford (Ashtin), Emily Rankin (Kimi), John Garrett Rankin, Lucas Parham (Anna), Keeley Johno (Dawson), Noah Parham, Mattie Parham, Alan Parham (Mallorie) and Alaina Parham; and thirteen great grandchildren.
