#thrive Youth Dive into Finding Nemo KIDS

There was nothing “fishy” about this performance – local youth with the #thrive Arts Beginner Theater Camp brought the house down last Friday, June 14 in the Jena High School Auditorium during their presentation of Finding Nemo KIDS* the musical.

Twenty-four students attended the nine-day camp at Jena High School prior to the show’s debut, making up the well-known cast based on Disney and Pixar’s move Finding Nemo. The camp was taught by JHS Drama Club Director Tracy Joy along with site coaches Holly Grant and Blake Joy and assisted by JHS Drama Club member and recent graduate Sarah Alexander. Friday night’s performance, which featured Dane Lindsey as little Nemo, Tripp Franklin as Nemo’s overprotective dad Marlin, Ainslee Cooksey as the friendly and forgetful Dory, Adelyn Lambeth as Nigel the pelican and Bruce the shark and Aiden Scott as the laid-back sea turtle Crush, was deemed a huge success by all who attended.

This program is a component of The Strand Village Project #thrive and is funded in part by a Substance and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program Grant from The Rapides Foundation. For more information, contact info@agreaterlasalle.com or visit www.agreaterlasalle.com. *Finding Nemo KIDS was presented through special arrangement and all authorized materials were supplied by Music Theatre International, New York, NY (212) 541-4684 mtishows.com.
