There are a lot of changes taking place at La-Salle High School. A new head football coach. A new athletic director. And now, a new parking arrangement to allow a more festive atmosphere for home football games.
For as long as anyone can remember, parking for Tiger football games has seen vehicles enter into the main gate on Tiger Drive beside the stadium and turn right to drive past the softball field and park on the football team’s practice field.
But this year, there will be limited access to the main entrance as most free parking will enter onto the practice field by an entrance on Blake Street just before the LHS auditorium – the road that leads to the LHS band building. Vehicles will be directed onto the practice field from there. Of course, parking at the Olla Sports Complex and around the fence of the football field will still be accessible.
As a special revenue source for Tiger Athletics, there will now be Paid Reserve Parking in the area along Tiger Drive (inside school grounds beside Tiger Stadium) and another Paid Tailgate Parking area in the space outside of the Lady Tiger Softball Field and adjacent to the Free Parking on the practice field.
Inside the Paid Reserve Parking area beside the stadium, 35 parking spots are available for a cost of $75 per spot for the entire season.
If you prefer to tailgate before games, you can reserve one of 20 spots available for a cost of $200 per spot for the entire season.
The reserved spots will be sold at Meet the Tigers Day set for Thursday, August 22, at 7 p.m., at Tiger Stadium. If all of the spots are not sold, more information will be released by the school.
The reserved locations are available on a first come–first serve basis.
