Old church hymns are soul deep songs that transcend generations, denominations and situations. The soothing, faith-filled lyrics speak to the hearts of people like no other style of Christian/ gospel songs or any other genre of music. While their popularity has faded and many of the words have gone silent, Jesus followers and church attenders for literally hundreds of years have (and many still do) found a refugee in lifting their voices to God in expressions of the familiar words of faith. Many has been the time these old hymns have soothed my soul.
