Pecans & Trump Make A Great Winter
Something happened to our pecan trees this year. There was a bountiful amount of pecans, but some varieties, namely the usually excellent Forkerts, had very faulty pecans. The pecan blower that separates the pecans by weight, blew out a mountain of pecans in the orchard. The outside shells looked just fine, but upon cracking them, the meat was shriveled, which means NO GOOD. The reliable Elliotts were sound as usual, but one variety cannot make up for several that just didn’t do. So, not our best harvest this year.
