She was born January 23, 1970, to the late Garfield Hinton and Betty Brown.
Barbara accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a 1988 graduate of Jena High School, and after graduation, she attended CLTCC Rod Brady where she studied computer science. Her passion and love for computers remained throughout her life. She also loved making cards. She was courageous and moved to Germany during the winter months with two infant nieces, Candice and Candra, and later moved to Texas before returning home.
Barbara was loving, caring, selfless and knowledgeable. She was always there for others, willing to help anyone who needed her and never complained. She was a soft-spoken aunt who kept all of her nieces and nephews in line. She had a warm and beautiful smile that felt like home when she flashed it, and always had a non-judgmental ear to listen. Her greatest joy was attributed from her Mother’s love.
She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents; brothers, Michael Brown and David Brown; sister, Lisa Brown; nieces, Chelsey and Kanedra; uncles, Herman Brown, Henry Wright and Robert Johnson; Elijah Brown; Jimmy Webb; and Auntie Ruth Ann Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Betty Brown; six sisters, Pamela Thomas (Norman), Linda Smith, Brenda Brown, Norma Faye Hinton Wren, Beverly Hinton and Debra Hinton McSwain (Alvin); brothers, Darren Brown (Vanessa) and Mikel Brown (Kalesia); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Joe and Pam Phillips and Don and Rosie McCoy.
