3A Buckeye Panthers Prevail Over Tigers

The LaSalle Tigers fell to the Buckeye Panthers last Friday night by the final score of 58-33 in the final pre-district game.

The Tigers were led on offense by freshman Lane Burnham, who had 11 points. The remainder of the scoring came as follows: Tuff Street 8, Caiden Finley 2, Harley Stroud 6, Madison Jeter 5 and Jace Corley 1. These guys have been putting in the work and we as fans need to give them the support they deserve.

LaSalle has been busy over the past few days getting ready for the District 3-1A schedule to get started. The Tigers faced Delta Charter and Georgetown. The scoring leaders in these games were Burnham in the Delta Charter game with 13 points followed by Finley 9, Jeter 5 and Stroud 2.

Against the Georgetown Bulldogs, Harley Stroud would lead all scorers with 20 points, Tuff Street 9, Jace Corley 8 and Finley and Burnham with 7 each.

On Tuesday night of this week, the Tigers opened District 3-1A play as they hosted Lakeview at LaSalle High School in Olla. Lakeview has a 14-3 record and is considered one of the best Division IV Non-Select teams in the state. The Tigers will have their hands full, but you can expect these Tigers not to back down. LaSalle will hustle until the final horn no matter the outcome of the game. These young players are gaining valuable experience that will serve this team well for years to come.

On Thursday night, January 16, the Tigers travel to Downsville for another non-district game and then on Friday night, January 17, they are on the road once again as they will take on Northwood for their second district game.

The guys will be back home Tuesday, January 21, as they will host the St. Mary’s Tigers in another District 3-1A matchup. The Tigers’ game will follow the Lady Tigers’ game which begins at 6 p.m.

Let’s pack the stands and cheer on these guys that are working every day to make this school and community proud. Hope to see you at the games.
