Tigers Undefeated in District Play

The LaSalle Tiger baseball team has jumped out of the gates with a 6-5 record including an undefeated record in district play in the early season.

The Tigers started District 3-1A play with two big wins over the Lakeview Gators last week.

The Tigers are relying on pitchers Brady Tatum and Kale Murphrey to eat up the innings this season on the mound. Jessey Stowe and Tuff Street have been sharing time behind the plate this season. Canaan Stowe and Cutler Ganey are two solid returners for the Tigers on offense and defense this year.

The Tigers finished out this past week with three wins. Those victories were over Lakeview in a double header and Harrisonburg on the road.

The Tigers are gearing up to make a run at a district championship this year and should be in the postseason simply because of strength of schedule.

The Tigers will continue District 3-1A play this coming week as they will take on the Northwood Gators. La-Salle has a great chance to open district play at 4-0. These guys are working hard to make this school and community proud. Make sure to tell them when you see them how proud you are of their efforts.

The Tigers have some much-needed improvements done around the field this year. A new metal outfield fence has been erected, and it makes the facilities look great. This is just phase one of the upgrades. The remaining phases are in the works and could take place as early as this summer.

The Tigers are working hard to build a solid program, and they are doing the little things right to assure that it happens. As the weather warms up let’s pack the stands to cheer on these guys that are working so hard.

Hope to see you at the games.
