Louisiana State Treasurer Dr. John
Louisiana State Treasurer Dr. John Fleming was in LaSalle Parish last Friday visiting with many residents as part of his campaign for United States Senator. Fleming is a physician from Minden and was in the U.S. House from 2009-2017. In 2016, he ran for U.S. Senate and lost to John Kennedy. He then served in the first Trump administration as deputy assistant of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, assistant secretary of Commerce for economic development and as a senior advisor to Trump in the White House. He was also a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus. Next year, he will run against incumbent Senator Bill Cassidy and gave his word to the Old Men’s Club at the Brisket House last Friday that he will support President Trump 100 percent if elected as senator.
