LaSalle Tigers Drop Two Games Last Week

The LaSalle Tigers dropped two district games this past week, both games against district rival St. Mary’s. This had the Tigers fall to 4-2 in District 3-1A play and 7-10 overall.

On Tuesday, March 18, the LaSalle Tigers had trouble keeping up with St. Mary’s in a 6-0 loss at home. St. Mary’s got on the board in the top of the second inning after Konner Kay lined out and LaSalle committed an error, each scoring one run. A single by Braylon Normand extended the St. Mary’s lead 3-0 in the top of the third inning.

Brady Tatum started on the mound for the Tigers. The lefty allowed eight hits and six runs (4 earned) over four and twothirds innings, striking out three and walking five.

Canaan Stowe went 2-3 at the plate to lead LaSalle at the plate. The Tigers turned one double play.

On Thursday, March 20, the LaSalle Tigers fell to St. Mary’s 16-1 in Natchitoches, as the Tigers lost the second game of the district set. St. Mary’s scored most of their runs in the second inning.

Tanner Dulaney began the game for LaSalle on the mound. The righty allowed four hits and four runs (3 earned) over one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Wyatt King and Jessey Stowe each collected one hit for LaSalle. Lane Burnham led LaSalle with one RBI.

The Tigers this year have been led at the plate by Canaan Stowe. Stowe is carrying a .519 batting average with three home runs and 23 RBI’s. Stowe carries a .852 slugging percentage. LaSalle as a team is hitting .309 on the season. Brady Tatum, Jessey Stowe, Mason Lee, and Lane Burnham are all hitting a tick above .300.

The Tigers are also running wild on the base paths with 71 stolen bases this season. The Tigers are putting in the work this season to be successful. LaSalle will have more district games coming up as Logansport and Montgomery are still to come this season.

They will be ready to run this stretch and make plenty of noise in the postseason. Let’s pack the stand to cheer on these guys that are working so hard to make this community proud. Hope to see you at the games.
