Lady Tigers’ Dominance Continues

The LaSalle Lady Tigers moved to 23-3 overall and 4-0 District 3-1A play with four more wins this past week. They continue to hold the number one ranking in Division IV Non-Select as the playoffs are just around the corner.

The Lady Tigers have continued their impressive offense and defense by scoring 52 runs and only giving up 18 runs in the last four games. They are set to play Montgomery Tuesday, April 1, a game that will decide the District 3-1A championship.

On Monday, March 24, the Lady Tigers trailed by as many as six runs, but came back to best Quitman on 10-6. LaSalle flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring 9 runs on six hits to take the lead 9-6.

The biggest blow of the inning was a grand slam by Mattie Parham. Rheese Martin earned the win for LaSalle. The reliever allowed one hit and zero runs over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Mattie Parham stepped in the circle first for the Lady Tigers allowing 6 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits over two and twothirds innings, striking out one and walking none. Landry Long pitched two innings of shutout ball for LaSalle in relief. The righty allowed one hit, striking out none and walking one.

Kinley Morris and Allie Murphrey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for LaSalle while hitting back-to-back. Mattie Parham drove the middle of the lineup with four RBI’s. Rheese Martin led LaSalle at the plate with two walks. The Lady Tigers had a strong eye at the plate by tallying five walks on the day.

On Tuesday, March 25, LaSalle collected 13 runs on 12 hits against Logansport in this District 3-1A game. The Lady Tigers came back to win despite trailing 5-1 in the third.

LaSalle opened things up in the bottom of the third innings scoring eight runs on 6 hits to take the lead 9-5. The biggest blow of the inning was a 2 RBI double by senior Klaire Fenoli. LaSalle added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on four hits. Rheese Martin doubled, scoring two runs, and Mattie Parham homered to centerfield, scoring two runs.

Rheese Martin earned the win for the Lady Tigers. The righty surrendered 11 hits and 9 runs over 7 innings, striking out four and walking none. The Lady Tigers amassed 12 hits in the game.

Klaire Fenoli led LaSalle with 3 RBI’s from the seven hole in the lineup. Fenoli was 2 for 4 on the day. Kinley Morris, Klaire Fenoli and Rheese Martin each collected multiple hits for LaSalle.

The Lady Tigers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Morris had the most chances with five plays.

On Saturday, March 29, Mattie Parham drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Lady Tigers past Monterey 13-2. Parham homered to center field in the third inning, scoring three runs and singled in the first scoring two runs.

LaSalle scored eight runs in the first inning on their way to victory. Mattie Parham singled, scoring two runs, Lana Childress singled, scored a run, Addie Taylor singled, scoring two runs, Allie Murphrey singled, scoring two runs, and Landry Long singled, scoring one run. A walk by Leah Steen extended the LaSalle lead 9-1 in the bottom of the second. LaSalle added four more runs in the bottom of the third inning on four hits. Mattie Parham homered to center field, scoring three runs and Jules Beaubouef grounded out, scoring one run.

Rheese Martin earned the win for LaSalle. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Landry Long appeared in relief for LaSalle.

The Lady Tigers piled up 14 hits in this contest. Landry Long led the Lady Tigers with 3 hits in 3 at-bats. Leanna Womack and Addie Taylor each collected multiple hits for LaSalle.

Rheese “Rowdy” Martin paced LaSalle with three walks, the team had patience at the plate accumulating 6 walks in the game. The Lady Tigers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Allie Murphrey had the most chances on defense with 8 plays.

Also on Saturday, LaSalle scored 12 runs in the third inning to help them defeat Simsboro 16-1. A Simsboro error scored two runs, Addie Taylor doubled, scoring two runs, Landry Long tripled, scoring three runs, and error scored another run, Leanna Womack doubled, scoring two runs and Leah Steen doubled, scoring two runs.

LaSalle got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Rheese Martin doubled to center field, Mattie Parham doubled, and Lana Childress singled, each scoring a run. LaSalle added a run in the second when Kinley Morris grounded out, making the score 4-1.

Landry Long earned the win for LaSalle as the starter surrendered one run and one hit (0 earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking two.

LaSalle amassed 11 hits in this game. Mattie Parham, Leanna Womack, Addie Taylor and Landry Long each collected two hits for the Lady Tigers. Womack, Taylor, and Long each drove in two runs.

These Lady Tigers are rolling through this regular season on a mission. LaSalle hasn’t been to Sulphur, Louisiana in two seasons now after being a regular resident there for years.

These girls are out to prove a point and make it back to their home away from home. Hope to see you at the games.
