Tigers Drop Two District Games

The LaSalle Tigers had a tough week last week against a District 3-1A opponent, dropping both games but they still maintain their #18 ranking in the Division IV Non-Select power rankings.

Logansport came to Olla Tuesday, March 25 and LaSalle couldn’t keep pace in the first matchup. Logansport opened the scoring in the second inning after one run scored on a dropped third strike. An error extended the Logansport lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning. Logansport would go on to win the game 10-1.

Brady Tatum started things off on the mound for the Tigers. The lefty gave up five hits and seven runs (4 earned) over five innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Mason Lee led the team with one RBI. Canaan Stowe led LaSalle with one hit in three at-bats.

On Thursday, March 27, the second matchup with Logansport occurred and the Tigers couldn’t keep up at Logansport in a 13-2 loss.

Logansport opened the scoring in the second after Logansport tripled and scored two runs.

Kale Murphrey started on the hill for the Tigers. The starter gave up seven hits and eight runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking five. Jessey Stowe went 2 for 3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. The Tigers struggled at the plate against Logansport.

These guys are working hard and competing in every game. The Tigers have fallen to 7-12 overall and 4-4 in District 3-1A play. Despite the losses, they are still holding strong at the #18 position in Division IV Non-Select LHSAA power rankings. This would put the Tigers on the road for the first round of the postseason if this position holds.

The Tigers have two district games remaining against Montgomery this week. They have been working hard to prepare for this final regular season run. Let’s pack the stands to cheer on these guys that are working every day to make this school and community proud.

If you see any of the players in the community, please tell them how proud you are of their hard work this season. Hope to see you at the games.
