Teachers’ aides, instructional assistants, paraprofessionals, paras…they are known by many titles to different people, but to the children they serve they are invaluable. From providing behavioral support to working with students with disabilities, paras are trained and certified to fulfill their specific responsibilities, and their duties vary from school to school and from child to child. LaSalle Parish has been blessed with some of the best – many who have dedicated their entire careers and decades of service to the children they help educate and care for. April is the designated month to recognize and honor these outstanding individuals and the valuable services they provide in public schools to children of all ages.
