Garden of the Month Contest
The Busy Bee Garden Club is excited to announce to opening a garden of the month contest for residents of LaSalle Parish. No yard or garden is too big or to small.
The first contest will be judged on the last day of April. Please email your photo entries to busybeegardenclub022025@ yahoo.com by April 30. We will announce the winners May 1. Winners will receive recognition on the Busy Bee Garden Club Facebook page and in the local newspaper, along with a nice sign for their yard! You work so hard on your yard, why not get the recognition you deserve?

Unashamed Youth Conference
The Unashamed Youth Conference will be at Olla First Baptist Church Wednesday, April 23-Saturday, April 26. Food will be served at 6 p.m. and the service will begin at 7 p.m.
Jena Lions Club Meeting
The Jena Lions Club will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2025. If you are interested in attending and seeing what the Jena Lions Club is about, please join us.
The Jena Lions Club provides scholarships each year to selected students at our LaSalle Parish high schools and offers area aid to fire victims, sponshorship of the Special Olympics and free eye exams and eyeglasses to qualifying people of all ages.
TCA Open House/Enrollment
Temple Christian Academy is currently enrolling new and returning students for the 2025-2026 school year.We are excited to be hosting an Open House/Family Night on Thursday, May 1, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to come and tour the school, meet the staff, and learn more about our curriculum.
Anyone wanting to take advantage of early enrollment and receive their handbook and other important information will have the opportunity to do so at that time. If you’re undecided and just wanting to explore schooling options for your family, then we invite you to come learn more about TCA!
Hair Cemetery

Mt. Zion Cemetery Working
There will be a cemetery working day for the Mt. Zion Cemetery on Saturday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a fish fry to follow; bring a side dish, salad or dessert. Donations will be taken for maintenance. For more information, text 318-729-1027.
Pastor Installation Service
New Evergreen Baptist Church requests the honor of your presence for our Pastor Installation Service for Rev. MaKeithan Bell on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Chat and chew will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with special guest Bishop Clennon Lee and Fresh Start Family. The Installation Service will begin at 4 p.m., with special guest Bishop Kurt Thompson and Houston Community Temple. New Evergreen Baptist Church is located at 1190 Church Street, Jena, LA.
JHS Class of 1960
The JHS Class of 1960 spring-summer gathering. will be at The Brisket House on Satuday, May 3, 2025, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each one will order for themselves or come and visit.
Wild Horse Ministries
While observing these lessons, you can watch during the first steps of training a horse that has never been saddled while he relates the horse training with God based on trust, faith, obedience and love.
