LaSalle Senior Competes in NELA All Star Game

The Northeast Louisiana All Star basketball games were held at Wossman High School in Monroe on Sunday afternoon, April 27. The gym was packed with high school basketball fans and players there to watch the Beast of the Week Games. Mattie Parham, LaSalle High senior, was invited to take part in the games that brought together fifty junior and senior basketball boys and girls from across Northeast Louisiana.

The Beast of the Week All stars were kicked off with a three-point shooting contest followed by a dunk contest. This was a great time to watch some of the best high school basketball players in the northern part of the state.

Mattie Parham had the opportunity to show her skills in front of several college scouts sitting in the stands. She scored 6 points and pulled down 10 rebounds along with 2 blocks.

Mattie holds an offer from Dallas Christian College. A NCAA Division III Christian school that has had Mattie on their radar since early in the fall. Mattie made her official visit this spring and will finalize her decision on schools later this school year.

This reporter was glad to be in the stands to cheer on Mattie throughout this game. Parham finished her high school career as the newest member of the 1000-point club at LaSalle.

Join with me in wishing Mattie Parham, Class of 2025, best wishes in her future, as it looks bright for her on the next level on the basketball court. Hope to see you at the games.
