Parham Inks to Become a DCC Crusader

Mattie Parham, 2025 graduate of LaSalle High School, has signed a commitment scholarship form to become a member of the Dallas Christian College Lady Crusaders women’s basketball team.

Mattie Parham, 2025 graduate of LaSalle High School, has signed a commitment scholarship form to become a member of the Dallas Christian College Lady Crusaders women’s basketball team.

Parham is the newest member of the LHS 1000-point club and will continue her education and basketball career in the Dallas area. Mattie was joined by family, friends and teammates to sign her scholarship offer on Friday, May 16 in the auditorium at LaSalle High School.

Parham will play this summer with LGR (Louisiana Girls Rankings), where she has spent the past few summers competing against the best female basketball players in the state.

Mattie has also visited with the softball coach at Dallas Christian, who has expressed an interest in having Mattie continue her softball career at DCC. Parham mentioned at her signing, “that will be something they look into once I’m settled in at school.”

After signing her scholarship papers, Mattie was asked to say a few words. She spoke to all the people in her life – her parents, coaches, teammates and others – who have encouraged her to chase this dream.

“Thank y’all for pushing me, for pouring into me. I love y’all,” she said with tears in her eyes to those in attendance.

This writer looks forward to giving updates on Mattie Parham throughout the fall and early spring as she is set to make her mark on the college ranks. Hope to see you at the games.
