LaSalle Parish continues to demonstrate it has a very strong workforce as for the fourth straight month, the parish had the second highest employment rate in the entire state.
According to data released by the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics and then processed by the Louisiana Workforce Commission, La-Salle had an unemployment rate of 3.2% for the month of April 2025, which translates to a 96.8% employment rate. (All figures are not seasonally adjusted.)
Updates to the LWC’s website were finally resolved and back on track to present the figures monthly as in the past, after posting figures months behind for several months.
The new update provided data for the past three months, which showed that LaSalle Parish maintains its low unemployment rating, the second lowest in the state and the lowest in all of central and north Louisiana.
The data revealed that LaSalle’s unemployment rate decreased from January (3.5%) to February (3.3%), increase from February (3.3%) to March (3.7%) and then decreased again from March (3.7%) to April (3.2%) – the lowest it’s been all year.
The only parish in the state that has a lower unemployment rate is West Feliciana, which had the following rates in each month: January 3.2%; February 2.9%; March 3%; and April 2.8%.
